Your Healthcare Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy Services provides comprehensive, high quality musculoskeletal physiotherapy services for the local population. Referrals must be made via your GP.
Physical means are used to assess, diagnose, treat and prevent injury or disease, in order to enable individuals to achieve their maximum level of function and independence.
The service also works closely with the Musculoskeletal Triaging services at Kingston Hospital, accepting referrals for physiotherapy into the community.
Patients may attend for individual or group treatment. The range of different services and treatments offered includes:
Joint and soft tissue manual therapy
Spinal Assessment (including the following post graduate techniques McKenzie, Maitland, Mulligan approach)
Dynamic Stability
Paediatric Musculoskeletal Disorders
Muscle Balance
Electrotherapy
Acupuncture
Exercise Prescription
Neural Dynamics
Biomechanics
Group work for patients includes:
General exercises and management strategies for persistent lower back pain
Osteoarthritis of the knees
Modified pilates for lower back pain
Patients may attend for individual or group treatment
Initial appointments consist of a 45 minute face-to-face assessment, followed by follow-up sessions.
Individual and group work takes place between 8am - 4.45pm with evening appointments by arrangement Monday - Friday.
