There is something magical about practising together, with the group able to hold us no matter our state of mind when we arrive.
***
Each week two volunteer facilitators lead us through the following practices:
*Introductions with a short weather report on how you are feeling
*A sounding the word Om - no musical ear or talent required
*A guided meditation offered by a member of the group
*A walking meditation - walking slowly and carefully around the circle of chairs
*A silent meditation, the facilitators will provide guidance, especially for anyone new to the group
*A dharma reading - members of the group have the option to read a paragraph of a book out loud
*A mindful sharing - members of the group have the opportunity to share any insight from that evening's practice, or something that they noticed from the week
*Metta or loving kindness - sending loving kindness to yourself and people you know who could use some
*Dedicating the merit to close the evening.
We also ask members of the group to come early to help set up, and stay for a few minutes afterwards to help reset the room for the next day.
