service
Chessington Sports Centre offers a community gym, as well as many other classes and activities for adults and children.
We support vulnerable adults who feel socially isolated, often due to mental health or learning disabilities. Through our many workshops and activities, we aim to help people build confidence, develop new skills and develop independence.

Kingston Eco-op is a project where vulnerable adults can socialise with a friendly and understanding community. You can develop your skills through supported learning and take part in different activities.
We welcome referrals from Kingston or any of our neighbouring local authorities, NHS services or self-referrals. Our service supports adults over 18 years of age who have mild to moderate learning disabilities, mental health difficulties, are neurodiverse or are at risk of social exclusion.
Kingston Eco-op runs a variety of sessions, including:
Arts & crafts workshop
Gardening
Playing a musical instrument
Drumming workshop
A walk club
Bicycle maintenance workshop
Accessible cycling
Fun keep fit
Move to music
Well-being workshop
English lessons
Maths lessons
IT lessons
We collaborate and work with a number of other organisations such as Richmond and Hillcroft Community College, Wheel for All, Full Cycle, Chelsea Football Foundation, United Response and others…..
Eco-op members can take part in activities and workshops as they wish. In addition to group workshops there are a variety of individual or small group activities such as playing board games, building models, lego, jigsaw puzzles colouring in, knitting, nail painting and more.
Sometimes people just like to come to our centre to relax, soak up the atmosphere, chat to friends and staff, take part in the sessions when they feel like it and simply enjoy being in a friendly, supportive, fun community.
If you have an idea for an activity or workshop, we will do what we can to help develop your interest.
In addition to the sessions we go on a variety of outings such as Hampton Court, Ham house, trips to London, picnics in the park, museums and a coach trip to the seaside every summer.
For the trips and outings and activities outside of our day service we raise funds so they are free for everyone. We do this by holding a Christmas and a Spring fayre, an annual sponsored walk, have a 'just giving' page, gratefully receive donations and apply for grants.
We aim to:
reduce isolation
encourage personal growth
increase skill levels
help manage personal well-being
be sociable and fun
