What is this group?

Friends of Latchmere Recreation Ground (FoLaR) aims to achieve:

  • Community cohesion,

  • well-being and

  • environmental improvements

Working with the Council and our stakeholders, we are increasing biodiversity on the Rec through:

  • planting trees

  • creating a sensory garden

  • Children's Nature Zone and

  • a Wildlife Pond.

Other activities / facilities

  • Kingston Little League has been providing excellent football opportunities for young people of all abilities for the past 40 years;

  • we host a Junior Parkrun every week; and

  • we are home to The Latch Cafe, which serves tasty and healthy refreshments.

We aim to increase the range of recreational activities providing something for everyone.

Volunteering with FoLaR

There are many opportunities for engaging with nature while helping on our projects.

As well as our upcoming projects, we also hold a variety of community events such as a Fun Day, Springfest, Dog Show, Silver Sunday, Nest Box Day and Christmas Fun Run.

We welcome new volunteers to be involved in all our activities. Please get in touch!
