What is this group?

Community cohesion, well-being and environmental improvements are at the heart of what FoLaR is aiming to achieve for Latchmere Rec and the North Kingston families it serves.

Working with the Council and our stakeholders, we are increasing biodiversity on the Rec by planting trees and a sensory garden. We also have a Children's Nature Zone and a Wildlife Pond.

Kingston Little League has also been providing excellent football opportunities for young people of all abilities for the past 40 years and we also host a Junior Parkrun every week. We aim to increase the range of recreational activities providing something for everyone.

We are also home of The Latch Cafe, which serves tasty and healthy refreshments.

Opportunities for volunteering with FoLaR

There are many opportunities for engaging with nature while helping on our projects. As well as our upcoming projects, we also hold a variety of community events such as Fun Day, Springfest, Dog Show, Silver Sunday, Nest Box Day and Christmas Fun Run.

We welcome new volunteers to be involved in all our activities. Please get in touch!

All are welcome to help create a community garden at Tolworth Station, behind our new community hub and kitchen 'Baking Ideas'. The proposed herb and wildlife garden will give residents access to a safe outdoor meeting place, encourage biodiversity and allow people to take cuttings from the herbs.
