What is this service?

If you are older, have an injury or health condition, or maybe you just find it challenging to get up and down from the floor, regular yoga classes can feel out of reach. That’s where Gentle and Chair Yoga comes in.

This unique class combines gentle mat work with chair-based poses, allowing you to choose the level of movement that suits your body on any given day. Based on the Yoga4Health framework, developed by leading yoga professionals in partnership with the NHS, this class is designed to safely improve your strength, mobility, and wellbeing.

Why Yoga4Health?

Yoga4Health is an evidence-based, NHS-approved model that uses yoga to support physical and mental health in accessible, therapeutic ways. It’s especially recommended for people managing long-term health conditions or mobility challenges.

The program focuses on:

Gentle movement tailored to individual ability

Breathwork to reduce stress and enhance relaxation

Mindfulness and guided meditation for mental clarity

Improved balance and coordination to reduce the risk of falls

Blending chair and mat practice creates a totally inclusive experience where you move at your own pace and can see how much progress you are making.
