What is this service?

Slimming World help put you in control of what you eat to help you lose weight. You don’t need to worry about weighing all your food, counting points or monitoring every mouthful. Slimming world can also support you during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Kingston Public Health have teamed up with local groups to offer Slimming World by referral. You can get 12 weeks free at a Slimming World class of you choice. In order to qualify for this programme, you need to:

  • Be 16 years old or over

  • Live, work, study or be registered with a GP in the Borough of Kingston, and

  • Have a Body Mass Index (BMI) equal or above 28; or

  • Have a BMI equal or above 25 with a weight related comorbidity; or

  • Have a BMI equal or above 23 and from a Black African, African-Caribbean, South Asian or Chinese ethnic group

  • Be ready to change!

If you have or have had self-funded membership at a commercial weight management programme in the last 6 months, you will not be eligible for a free 12 weeks voucher.

You can find out your own BMI with the NHS calculator. You will need to know your height and weight before getting started.
