Dementia-friendly Historical Sensory Walks

Join us for a tour of the historic town of Kingston upon Thames, a relaxing walk around Kingston's town centre, stopping at key places and briefly presenting the history associated with the location.

We meet at 10:30 a.m. in the café in All Saints Church.  The walks last around 60 minutes and are led by our volunteer guides. After the walk, we’ll sit and talk over a tea or coffee (our treat!) in the quiet calm of the church café.

Important information

Support workers, carers, family members or friends are very welcome to join the walk.  Please be aware that our guides are trained tour guides but they  cannot act as carers or support workers.

How to book

We can only accommodate a limited number of people per walk, please use our online booking form to secure your place.

Walks happen normally on Mondays, of around 3 miles in length and start at Kingston Station, just outside Pret. We walk a variety of routes, sometimes circular finishing at Kingston, and sometimes we finish elsewhere and get buses back to Kingston. We aim to be back in Kingston around 1.30 pm.

We connect dog owners with trusted local people who would love to look after their dog. We make it easy to arrange walks, playtime, overnight stays or holidays. Matches are based on availability and location, and no money is exchanged between owners and borrowers - it's based on the love of dogs!
