We provide courses for adults to improve health, well-being, skills for work as well economic and cultural life through community engagement.

What is this service?

We are a friendly and welcoming service. Our courses are accessible to all learners within the community and cater for a range of abilities and needs.

We support learners throughout their adult life both for personal enrichment, wellbeing and to update and extend skills for the workplace. We offer day and evening courses in a range of locations across the borough. High quality advice, guidance and support is a priority to ensure that learner needs and expectations are met. We have specific courses to gain qualifications (including English, ESOL, Maths and IT) as well as employability skills.

For learners with learning difficulties & disabilities, we offer singing, drama, cooking, arts & crafts and IT classes which develop independence and life skills. There are also courses to improve and maintain good mental health. These include: Practical Ideas for Happier Living, resilience courses, meditation, yoga, boosting mood through food and singing to reduce stress.

We offer help with learning needs and provide access to additional learner support where appropriate. There are also classes for personal development such as art, sculpture, ceramics, photography, piano, creative writing, stained glass, weaving, upholstery, languages, gardening, lip reading, British Sign Language, lip reading, book-keeping, childcare and teaching assistant training. There are also family learning courses in a range of locations across the borough.
