What is this service?

Public Health England's Food Scanner app is here to help you and your family make healthier food and drink choices.

It’s time to get scanning! Just find a food or drink barcode to quickly see what’s inside. You might be surprised by what you find!

We’ve also identified healthier snack choices to take the guesswork out of shopping. Look for our healthier snacks which get the thumbs up for being under 100 calories without being high in sugar, sat fat or salt.

You’ll also find loads of simple hints and tips to help you make healthier choices.

You can also visit our website to discover a whole range of ideas to help keep your family healthy and happy

The app is based on the most widespread data available to us. We’re continuously working to improve it and we’re adding more and more products all the time. The nutrient data in this app is supplied by Brandbank and FoodSwitch.

Downloaded this app today and it's already making a difference to how we eat and drink. Very easy to use and it demystifies confusing product labels!
