What is this service?

Adventurous Drawing and Painting

A varied course including portrait, figure drawing and still life drawing and painting techniques to expand your creative horizons. Work from life and also from photographs to develop your skills. This course is also an excellent portfolio builder.

Drawing the Human Figure

Drawing from life models, explore a range of different approaches to drawing the human figure. These will include different methods of measurement, including pencil measuring and alignment; gestural drawing; analysing the body as shapes; anatomy and study of specific areas and experimenting with different media.

Sketching with Mixed Media

Learn essential pencil sketching techniques, explore colour theory and create your own colour palette. You will experiment with a range of varied materials such as brush pens, paint and coloured pencils, and learn to draw inspiration from the world around you to develop your sketchbook practice, create an interesting visual journal and overcome creative blocks.

Painting, Drawing & Basic print making - All Levels

This course offers a structured space for learners to explore and develop their painting skills and visual confidence through guided teaching alongside moments of independent learning. The structure of the course involves a series of set projects and tasks that demonstrate essential methods of painting drawing, and the skills of research for painting. The course will include introductory presentations of artists’ processes and particular paintings to support a deeper understanding of painting practice. The course will provide a challenging framework in which learners can expand their painting knowledge alongside their technical painting skills.

Watercolour - Beginners & Improvers

Develop the skills required for watercolour painting. A step-by-step exploration of basic watercolour painting. Introduction to materials, learn how to use them through various techniques and methods. Develop your skills whilst acquiring a practical knowledge about colour, the colour wheel, colour-mixing, toning and brush strokes.

Watercolour - Improvers

Exploration of more advanced watercolour painting techniques at an Advanced level.
