What is this service?

A young carer is someone who helps look after someone at home who has a disability, long-term illness, mental health difficulties, or problems with drugs or alcohol. They could be a parent, sibling, grandparent, or another family member.

A young carer may support them by taking on extra responsibilities like cooking, cleaning, or caring for siblings or may also support them emotionally by listening or helping them to feel reassured.
