What is this service?

What we do

Our aim is to support children and young people to stay in school and get the best from their education so that they achieve to the best of their abilities.

We know that physical and emotional health needs can impact on their ability to engage with school and are therefore available to support children and families with health needs they may have.

We accept health questions and formal referrals for children or young people with physical or emotional needs from GPs, Schools, Social Care, parents and pupils.

It is essential that the referred child or young person or family has agreed to the referral.

We will assess the needs presented and may come back to the referrer for more information.

If we can meet the presented need we will arrange to meet with the child or young person (with their family if needed) in a suitable setting, i.e., school, home or community setting.

Where can I access the service?

Various school sites across the borough, Hollyfield House or at your home.

Click here for the school health referral form.

You can also contact the school health team for information and advice via text on 07507207365. The textline is monitored Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, but you can text any time. Please note however we can only respond during our monitoring hours.
