What is this service?

Release offers professional and affordable counselling for individuals aged 18 and over. Face to face sessions are based in comfortable rooms at our YMCA buildings in Surbiton, Wimbledon, South Ealing and Walthamstow.

Many individuals find counselling helpful as it gives them an opportunity to explore their thoughts and feelings in a confidential and supportive environment.

People seek counselling for many different reasons including:

  • Relationship and/or sexual difficulties

  • Loss or bereavement

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Low self-esteem

  • Stress

  • Abuse - physical, verbal, sexual, emotional or mental

  • Issues of faith and spirituality

We offer weekly sessions of 50 minutes which will continue for an agreed period. This can be brief (6-12 sessions) or longer depending on need.

Our counselling services are open to all regardless of age, gender,faith, physical ability or sexual orientation.

All our counsellors are either fully qualified or in training. We offer a fully professional service and we are members of BACP, abiding by the Ethical Framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
