This service helps local people to make a Universal Credit claim online from the starting point (i.e. setting up an email account) through to the first correct payment.
Universal Credit is a benefit that can help with your everyday living costs. You might be able to get it if you are not working or if you are on a low income.
Universal Credit is gradually replacing 6 other benefits, these are:
Housing benefit
Income related Employment and Support Allowance
Income - based Job Seeker's Allowance
Child Tax Credits
Working Tax Credits
Income Support
You can't usually claim Universal Credit and any of these benefits at the same time.
If you need help to make and manage your claim online, we can support you to do this. We will work with you through a 'to do' list set out by the Job Centre Plus, and will help you to check if there is any other help you can get. For instance, we can guide you on other sources of money while you wait for your claim to be processed.
Please contact us and we will make an appointment for you as soon as possible.
