Climbing out of Depression (COOD) is a registered UK charity, set up to help people experiencing depression, low mood, anxiety or similar challenges in their mental health and emotional wellbeing by introducing them to the awesome world of climbing.

Why climbing?

What we offer:
Up to four free one-to-one coaching sessions with a qualified instructor
Social sessions introducing service users to the wider climbing community, encouraging them to continue climbing and to make lasting improvements to their mental wellbeing.
How does it work?
COOD provides instructor-led indoor climbing sessions to people suffering from mild to moderate mental health conditions (e.g. anxiety and depression).
We currently operate at White Spider Urban Climbing, Tolworth KT6 7LD. More locations will be added soon!
The focus is on what our service users can do, not what they are not able to do. Their emotional, physical and psychological safety is our priority. Instructors are given mental health awareness training, safeguarding training and have enhanced DBS checks.
