What is this service?

BuddyUp is a local service run by Richmond AID that helps disabled young people aged 14 to 17 in Kingston and Richmond.

Each young person is paired with a volunteer around the same age to go on fun outings together, like going to a café, bowling, or taking the bus. These outings happen about twice a month for six months and are designed to help build confidence and everyday life skills through socialising.

Activities are based on what each pair enjoys doing. There are also group outings for everyone in the service, which are great for those who aren’t quite ready for a one-on-one pairing.

If you know a young person in Kingston who might benefit from BuddyUp, please share our contact details.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or want to talk about making a referral.
