The aim of the Better Working Futures program is to support unemployed adults to start and sustain a job. Participants on the service are supported to create a personal plan of action that will meet their needs and aspirations.
Individual and group support, including functional skills, vocational skills, employability skills, motivational and practical skills, is included.
Activities include:
Career planning, CV writing, support applying for work, interview practice
Health assessments – conducted by health professions
Signposting and wrap-around support to engage with specialist support organisations
Work experience, taster sessions and employer route ways
Motivational and confidence building sessions
Literacy, numeracy, ESOL support
Support with managing drug and alcohol issues
Support to find and retain suitable accommodation
Family support and/or mediation
Access to funding for childcare and interview clothing
Our friendly Employment Advisers are experts at helping people into work. We can provide you with personal advice and guidance, skills training and health support.
For initial advice, guidance and to be referred, participants can contact their local Job Centre Plus office, or submit their details online and an Employment Adviser will be in touch within 48 hours to help.
