Balance provides employment support to individuals with a mental health condition who are either already in employment but finding it difficult to continue in their job ,or unemployed and finding it difficult to get back into work.

We have a team of Employment Advisors who work in partnership with iCope https://www.icope.nhs.uk/kingston/ offering integrated employment support to help individuals avoid long-term unemployment, together with promoting the link between being in work and achieving improved health outcomes.
Employment is an integral part of life for most of us, but unfortunately, many people experience some form of mental health issues in their lives at some point, that can have an impact on their work.
At Balance we provide an impartial, supportive and confidential approach to finding solutions that help find the right job for you. We want to prevent people suffering with issues such as stress and anxiety from leaving their existing jobs when they are both able and motivated to work.
Our service offers clients a blend of face-to-face support, telephone and video conferencing.
Our support includes
Developing strategies to support your wellbeing at work
Help to develop a plan to return to work from sick leave and ongoing support.
Support to find alternative employment if you feel your current role has a negative impact on your mental health
CV writing, interview preparation, job searching and assistance with application forms to help find the right job for you.
Support with motivation, confidence building and managing other common obstacles when seeking or retaining employment.
Signposting to training, volunteering and advocacy support.
We accept referrals from Kingston iCope https://www.icope.nhs.uk/kingston/, your GP or the clinician supporting your mental health. Please email healthteam@balancesupport.org.uk if you require further information.
