Awareness of Mental Health & Wellbeing, Stress Management Techniques

The course aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and how to foster good mental health and wellbeing. You will understand what is meant by the terms stress, wellbeing and good mental health. There will be group discussions and an opportunity to gain tips and techniques.

What is this service?

You will be able to outline factors that can affect mental health and wellbeing and be able to understand mental health issues in relation to diverse groups. You will be aware of how to access support for mental health issues and be able to identify barriers to accessing support. You will be able to list symptoms of stress and how it effects parts of the body. You will learn about the different types of stress and their causes. You will learn a range of coping strategies and relaxation techniques.

A good standard of English as the accreditation is gained through completion of a written workbook.

This course is subject to interview and assessment.
