Event description

Join us for a fascinating talk exploring life in Anglo-Saxon England during the reign of King Athelstan, often considered the first King of England. Discover Kingston’s royal beginnings, the structure of early English society, the role of religion, and the rich art and culture of the so-called ‘Dark Ages’.

Delivered by Olive Higham, a historian and PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge, this is a must for anyone interested in Kingston’s heritage and the early story of Britain.

Join us on Monday 19 May from 6pm to 7pm at the Queen Anne Suite, Guildhall, High Street, Kingston KT1 1EU. Cost is £10 per person.
