What is this activity?
We are Surbiton Decca Rugby Club, and we are running walking rugby sessions in your local area. These are typically every other Saturday morning at 09.30am until 10.30am at the grass fields behind Goals Tolworth (near Tolworth train station). Please get in contact first to check our session details as we do vary our scheduling depending on availability, weather, other club plans etc.
We welcome adults of any age, gender, ability or experience level to join us grow this non-contact version of rugby. We are a friendly bunch. Sessions are currently free: we rely on both the generosity of club members to organise sessions and for the hosts whose facilities we use.
Walking rugby is an inclusive version of the sport suitable for anyone seeking fun, skills, teamwork and good ethos of rugby - but without the bonecrunching hits and intense sprints! It's good exercise outdoors and very sociable. You do not need to have ever played rugby before. We often have a soft drink together after our Saturday morning sessions. We also enter walking rugby festivals for friendly fixtures with fellow rugby clubs.
We do offer an annual non-contact club membership for a low sum currently (£10) but please feel to just come and try without any obligations.
As a club we also offer socials (e.g. watching England rugby at a local pub in Surbiton or Berrylands, or a trip to a game) and have a full contact adults mens team too.
Get in touch and come give it a go!
