Achieving for Children (AfC) supports children and young people from birth to 25 years old. We work on behalf of Kingston Council.
Everyone wants the best for their children, but it can be hard to know what to do as a parent as they grow up. That’s where HENRY comes in. HENRY is an approach to supporting happy and healthy families in Kingston.

The HENRY programme supports the whole family to gain the confidence, knowledge and skills they need to help the whole family adopt a healthier, happier lifestyle and to give their children a great start in life.
There is support for fussy eating, screen time, healthier teeth, sleep, getting active and healthy family eating behaviours.
increase parents’ knowledge and skills in healthy eating and understanding of the benefits of physical exercise
improve parenting efficacy (their belief in their capabilities as a parent) and healthy behaviours (healthy eating, screen time, sleep and activity)
promote emotional wellbeing to support families to develop healthy lifestyle habits, including in relation to food, activity and daily routines
We offer 8 week group programmes and individual workshops. They are delivered online or face to face.
The programme is delivered by health visitors and school health, who have been trained in the HENRY approach.
For the group programme, parents and children attend weekly sessions over an eight week period online or at a children’s centre.
The workshops are delivered online or at a children’s centre.
