Please note that ASCA Kingston has discontinued its counselling service at 96 Ditton Road, Surbiton. This is due to structural issues with the Fircroft building, which has been sealed off by the owners, Kingston Borough Council.
ASCA now operates from its Richmond offices. Kingston residents are welcome to telephone ASCA Richmond to arrange to be seen for an assessment from Tuesday 5 January 2021.
We are an established local community-based organisation with 28 years of experience in the field of addiction, offering various interventions, including: advice and information, one-to-one counselling, psychotherapy, self-help and wellbeing groups. Our services are open to any adults (18 years or older), regardless of where they live or work:
With alcohol and drug misuse concerns
Experiencing process addictions, e.g. computer gaming, gambling, sex, pornography
Carers, family members, friends and anyone affected by the addiction of others
In recovery from addiction who are experiencing difficulties in their lives
Experiencing mild mental health issues, e.g. anxiety/depression, that are under the current management of a mental health professional and/or GP
Experiencing everyday difficulties in their lives, such as stress, bereavement, abuse, isolation, low self-esteem
ASCA only accepts self-referrals. We will discuss your needs and discuss how we can support you. If you fully meet our criteria, we will offer you an initial assessment and, if we feel that we are the right service for you, we will offer up to 6 sessions of counselling, which may possibly be extended. You must be able to commit to regular weekly attendances and be free of any substances on the day of your appointments. We also agree a weekly donation towards our services based on personal circumstances.
Please note that ASCA is a charity and not an emergency service, or part of the NHS, and does not have the resources to offer medical or crisis interventions.
