Event description

Talk, Listen, Connect workshops

Loneliness affects many of us and can impact both physical and mental health. Often, we notice when someone around us is struggling, but we’re not sure what to say or how to help without saying the wrong thing.

Talk, Listen, Connect workshops help build confidence in everyday connection.

They focus on simple, human skills we can all use, talking, listening and helping people feel less alone — without trying to fix anyone or take on responsibility for their situation.

What the workshop is about

The workshop explores:

  • Why connection matters for health and wellbeing

  • How to start kind, respectful conversations

  • How to listen well, without judgement or trying to fix things

  • How to support people experiencing loneliness, grief or loss

  • How to help people connect with others and their community

You’ll look at real life situations and learn practical skills you can use straight away.

Who it’s for

Everyone can be a TLC Connector.

The workshop is for anyone who wants to:

  • Feel more confident talking and listening

  • Support others in everyday moments

  • Help create kinder, more connected communities

No experience or specialist knowledge is needed.

What to expect

The session is:

  • Friendly and welcoming

  • Interactive, with discussion and simple activities

  • Supportive, with no pressure to share personal experiences

TLC Connector badge

Everyone who attends receives a free Talk, Listen, Connect badge. Wearing the badge is optional and helps show others that you’re a safe, approachable person to talk to.
