Event description

The National Education Nature Park is a free programme for all schools, nurseries and colleges in England that sees young people leading the way in transforming their outdoor sites, with benefits for both wildlife and the school community. While turning the 'grey' parts of their site into greener spaces through improvements like digging ponds and installing green walls, young people connect to nature, develop green skills and boost biodiversity. It's been commissioned by the Department for Education, and developed by a partnership of organisations led by the Natural History Museum working with the Royal Horticultural Society and others.

A key part of the Nature Park cycle is using Nature Park digital tools from Esri UK to map out what habitats on your site. This session, led by scientists from the Natural History Museum, will cover how to use the Nature Park digital tools, focussing on Step 1 of the Nature Park cycle: 'Getting to know your space'. We'll put a particular focus on the habitat mapping and how to run sessions with your students.

This will also give you a chance to ask any questions you have about the Nature Park process, as well as to meet fellow educators who are taking part and exchange ideas together.

We have a capacity of 20 so please sign up to ensure you have a space and please do spread the word to any educators you may know who would be interested in attending!
